About us
The Friends of the Arts Centre of Christchurch was incorporated on the 1st of August 2014 as an independent volunteer organisation with the purpose of supporting and promoting Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre, with a special focus on fundraising for key projects. We are an independent registered charity: Registration Number CC51240
In order to complement The Art Centre's own fundraising initiatives, the Friends focus on particular projects, chosen in consultation with The Arts Centre.
We hold regular events and activities, such as Quiz Nights, Garden Tours, and Film Evenings, run by a volunteer Executive Committee that meets monthly.
A formal newsletter is distributed at least bi-annually with regular emails as required to notify members of forthcoming events.
Friends may be asked to volunteer to help at Arts Centre events, for activities such as ushering, ticketing, preparing food for events, or running a raffle.
